Ik zou graag vanuit Engeland via Ijsland en Groenland met de boot naar Canada gaan en vervolgens naar New York. Na heel veel te hebben gezocht heb ik niets kunnen vinden over hoe ik het beste deze route in kan plannen.
Graag zoek ik hierover informatie en tips.

Ik zie dat er nog geen reacties zijn gekomen op dit topic. Zelf heb ik geen ervaring met deze reis, laat staan route, dus ik kan je niet verder helpen qua eigen ervaringen. Ik zie overigens dat je je vraag al hebt gepost in een ander forum, zijn daar nog reacties op gekomen waar je iets mee kon?
Het internet leert mij dat er geen ferry van Engeland naar IJsland vaart. Je zult naar Denemarken moeten en van daaruit verder naar IJsland.
How to travel to Iceland from the UK…
You’ll need to travel to Hirtshals at the northern tip of Denmark to board the Smyril Line ship to Iceland as she no longer calls at any UK port.
First, pick a sailing, so see www.smyril-line.com for the sailing schedule or use the seat61 Ferry Shop.
Now work out train connections from the UK to Denmark. There are two main options. Option 1 is to take a train from London Liverpool Street to Harwich International in Essex, then the DFDS Seaways (www.dfds.co.uk) ferry Sirena Seaways from Harwich across the North Sea to Esbjerg. She sails 2 or 3 times a week, see the London to Denmark page for details. A very comfortable and leisurely way to get there, especially if you use their superb Commodore class.
The second option is to take an afternoon Eurostar to Brussels, a high-speed Thalys or ICE train to Cologne and the daily overnight Cologne-Copenhagen City Night Line sleeper train as far as Odense, see the London to Denmark page.
Then take a train from Esbjerg or Odense to Hirtshals, you can check times and fares at the Danish Railways website www.dsb.dk, although its only in Danish, so use Google’s Chrome browser with its built-in translation. The last leg is on a local train from Hjørring to Hirtshals, a distance of 17 km (10 miles). Trains on this little private railway run at least every hour and the fare is around 27 Kroner. Alternatively, you could take a taxi from Hjørring to Hirtshals, see www.hhbusservice.dk.

However, more and more cruise shipping companies are choosing to include Greenland on their itineraries, whereby it is possible to begin the voyage from Iceland or go onboard at, for example, Kangerlussuaq. Uit mijn tijd dat ik nog werkzaam was bij een grote touroperator, weet ik dat er ooit een ferry-verbinding was van Frankrijk naar IJsland. Ik kan daar zo echter geen informatie meer over vinden. Wellicht zelf even googelen?
