"Have been almost a month in India. Great country and amazing culture. There are many good people out there but also thousands waiting to s…cam you. The government needs to take serious action as this will affect their tourism. I have visited the railway station to book a ticket, a man then approached me claiming to work for the railyway station. He then said that I can not book a ticket from here and said it was only possible from the government ticket office. I then entered a Rickshaw with the help of this man. The driver took me to an office and they said that they were the government train ticket reservation and because of the weather there will be no trains to jaipur for the next 4 days. He then said that I could take a taxi which costed 12 thousands rupees. I imiedetely understood it was a scam. I then asked another driver to take me to the railway station, the new driver told me that it was impossible to book a ticket and with a cheeecky smile he took me to another fake office. I then called my hotel in dehli which he informed me that its a scam and to just book from the new dehli railway station. 2 days ago in Varanasi at the burning ganges, a man took me up to the temple and said i should give a donation to help. I offered 100 rupees and he got angry and said i was disrespectful and should give 400 rupees donation to the temple. I then laughed and walked off, the man then try to scare me saying that if i dont pay the donation he will call the others working there and ill have big problems. I told him to call the others and ill call the police. He then held my hand from reaching my phone and I aggressively pushed him and he walked off. If i was a weak person then i would have got scared and paid. Others are not so strong and will fall to these scams. I hope the indian government will wake up as such ignorance is destroying their tourism. I understand many are poor but to cheat and lie is an offence. Please be aware especially in Dehli. Seriously disgusted and great shame. Try to book taxis in dehli only using Uber
