Hello everyone,
my name is Sam, grew up in the Netherlands and I’d like to move ‘back’ to England. My parents moved to the Netherlands 20 years ago, I speak Dutch but I am trying to get in the mood, so for the moment I’ll stick to English ![]()
I’d like to move back because I never really settled here, well, I did, but I feel like I am somewhere in between: part Dutch, part British. Perhaps moving to England puts my life in a different perspective and can teach me something about myself?
I suppose it’s not that hard, but moving still seems like a daunting task. I honestly don’t know where to start…
I am diabetic and have a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, no real work experience though. My English I think is decent, though it could use some work (my parents hardly ever spoke it at home).
I wonder whether someone could point me in the right direction, for instance, sites where I can find a room (in Manchester preferably) or perhaps even a job, because I’ll have to sustain myself over the coming year.
Concerning diabetes: how is health care in England? Where can you get all the necessary equipment/ insurance?
Thanks!
Sam
