Hallo Jose,
gr.
Ton.
Bijna vergeten, de mail van toen.
Dear Ton,
Thank you very much for your email.
I am very fine, thank you and the weather in Hanoi is very hot at that time, the temperate about 27 – 37 degree C.
I would like to answer all your questions as below:
-
This area is North East of Vietnam. This is really beautiful area to discover and the best way to travel from Hanoi is Ba Be – Cao Bang – Ban Gioc waterfall - Lang Son – Ha Long – Cat Ba island - Hanoi.
-
Tourist can discover this area as a backpacker by themselves with local bus event it is not easy.
-
They need to have a permit paper when go inside Ban Gioc Waterfall but they can get it when they are in Cao bang town; just need to bring their passport and go to the Immigration department to get a permit.
-
The locals people in this area cannot speak English or a few only so they must to prepare the way to communicate with the locals to ask the way, to find the place to stay, to bargain for “xe om”… J
-
To cover this route, it takes about 9 days, suggestion as following:
o Day 1: Hanoi – Ba Be – stay in Ba Be
o Day 2: Ba Be
o Day 3: Ba Be – Cao Bang – stay in Cao Bang
o Day 4: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Cao Bang
o Day 5: Cao Bang – Lang Son
o Day 6: Lang Son – Halong Bay
o Day 7: Halong Bay – Cat Ba
o Day 8: Cat Ba
o Day 9: Cat Ba – Hai Phong – Ha Noi
-
You can find some schedules of locals busses on internet but not all. Every province in Vietnam has public bus station and you can ask the locals for details.
-
The most expensive services of this route for a private tour is CAR and it costs about US$90 per person per day including private car, driver, tour guide, all admission fees, accommodation and meals.
I hope the above is helpful for you.
Should you need any further assistance feel free to contact me at anytime.
My regards,
Ha
