Ik zou graag een ongeveer maand op een project in Nepal willen werken eind maart/begin april 2011.
Wie kent een goed en betrouwbaar project in Nepal? Alle tips zijn welkom!

SIW Internationale vrijwilligersprojecten heeft verschillende projecten in Nepal via onze partnerorganisatie NIFC-Nepal, ook in de periode die jij noemt (zie www.siw.nl). Bijvoorbeeld het volgende project:
Pokhara workcamp

WORK
There are verities of works in this work camp project. The main work is an environmental work in association with local Community Forest Consumer’s Group. Volunteer will work together with the local people at local forest to help in plantation, taking care of trees, making fire lines, removing un-necessary grass etc. There are so many choices to work for the community school/government school to make toilet/ playground/painting the classroom/building etc. Volunteer also involve in seasonal agricultural work to help local farmer to plant and harvest crops. We will explain in details about the objectives and activities of the work camp project during the orientation meeting. Some time types of will be change if the local demand will be different then the old one because our schedule will be prepare in advance

ACCOMODATION AND FOOD**
[RIGHT]NIFC-Nepal arranges accommodation in private ranted or community house. A shower will be available at the camp house, but not the standard you are used to in your country. Nepalese daily food is Dal Bhat, like Dal (soup of lentil or beans), Bhat (cooked rice), Tarkari (cooked vegetable), is provided. This is the staple diet of the Nepalese and it is eaten everyday. The camp leader will try to offer some different foods but if you would like to enjoy your native meals please bring food from your own country. Volunteers will help to prepare meals in turns.[/RIGHT]

LOCATION & LEISURE ACTIVITY**
[RIGHT]Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty and renowned by valley of lakes and caves as well stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks .Situated an altitude 827m from the see level and 200km west from Kathmandu valley. The serenity of lakes and the magnificence of the Himalayas rising behind them create an ambience of peace and magic. So today the city has not only become the starting point for most popular trekking and rafting destinations but also a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Pokhara is part of a once vibrant trade route extending between India and Tibet. To this day, mule trains can be seen camped on the outskirts of the town, bringing goods to trade from remote regions of the Himalaya. This is the land of Magars and Gurungs, hardworking farmers and valorous warriors who have earned worldwide fame as Gurkha soldiers. The Thakalis, another important ethnic group here, are known for their entrepreneurship.[/RIGHT]

Wellicht dat Travel Active je verder zou kunnen helpen. Wij bieden de mogelijkheid om vrijwilligerswerk te doen in Nepal vanaf 4 weken. Je zou dan op 5 april kunnen starten met een 5-daagse oriëntatie. Daarna kun je voor 3 weken gaan werken in een weeshuis of op een school in de omgeving van Kathmandu. Ik heb vorig jaar een aantal maanden als vrijwilliger gewerkt in een weeshuis en op een schooltje in Pokhara. Dit heb ik via de organisatie vrijwillig wereldwijd gedaan.
