The SGR has introduced a slightly slower “county” train service both ways between Mombasa and Nairobi, stopping at seven intermediate stations. It departs Nairobi at 8 am and arrives in Mombasa at 13.40 (pm), the up train leaving Mombasa at 8 am and arriving at 14.07 (pm). The down express train leaves Nairobi at 15.30 (pm), arriving in Mombasa at 20.20 (pm). The up express departs Mombasa at 15.50 (pm), arriving in Nairobi at 20.12 (pm). We look forward to freight trains taking many of the heavy trucks off the road in December!
