:vak02:

26 Oct 2016 - 4:12 PM UPDATED 4 HOURS AGO

The cost of the Working Holiday visa will be reduced by $50 starting January 2017. It will go from $440 to $390.

The Australian Government is also considering options to extend the Australian Working Holiday visa for people aged 19 to 35, extending the age limit from 30 to 35.

Age of eligibility – Government announcement

The Government is considering options for expanding the upper age of eligibility from 30 to 35 years, including timeframes, legislative requirements and engagement with partner countries. Reciprocity of arrangements for Australian citizens remains a key feature of the programme. The current age of eligibility (18 to 30) will remain in place for the time being.

It will also become possible to work for an employer for up to a year, instead than only six months, as long as you’re not working in the same location for more than six months.

From 1 January 2017, the age limit for a Working Holiday or Work and Holiday Visa may increase from 30 to 35 years old.
