Tot nu toe moest je bij vertrek vanaf het vliegveld in Guayaquil of Quito een exit tax betalen.Dit is nu per 9 feb.2011 afgeschaft.De tax wordt al in de prijs van je ticket verwerkt.Deze tax was per airport verschillend en was ca. $30.

OK, just came back to the US Feb 22, 2011. In the airport, I saw a guy in line
in front of me paying what appeared to be the tax at the airline counter. When
I got up there and inquired about the tax, the Avianca person told me that it
was included in the price of my ticket, nothing to pay.
I assume that the guy in front of me had purchased his ticket before the policy
went into effect.
In addition, the tax window in the corner of the room is all closed up.
Therefore, I conclude that the new system is working as intended. In Ecuador.
