Goeiedag zeg, heel Durbar Square ligt plat! Pokhara lijkt nog ernstiger getroffen, voor zover ik weet.

Ik na over twee weken naar China, Tibet en Nepal . . . Niet naar Pokhara, maar wel naar Kathmandu.
En we gaan met Turkisch Airlines. En ik lees net ergens, dat er een toestel van die maatschappij brandend geland is . . .

Verschrikkelijk zoveel die verloren is gegaan, mensen die dierbaren hebben verloren. Het is een zwarte dag voor Kathmandu vandaag, hopelijk komt er snel hulp.
ook de bergbekimmers zitten in de problemen, de aardbevingen veroorzaakten vele lawines

Tourist area update even though its not accurate still wanted to share. Guests sleeping outside in thamel and thamel as it has lot of old houses seem to have damage. Major damage was a hotel named budget guest house totally collapsed including several indian and other tourist died… those who remember a deep huge old traditional tap near my office the hotel was there and hotel building fall down into the tap dhunge dhara of which i had posted a pic on instagram. Changu temple Kasta mandap temple (from which kathmandu is named) completely damaged … tourists feared died. Kumari temple seem survived.

No power sice earthqueck. Even backup battery is not much left. Sad news continuous. I have not gone anywhere leaving family (mom sush anjali and myself). There is no landline and ntc mobile was off for about 15 hrs in our area.

Tourist area update heard from rumor plus a radio news - langtang at least 5 tourist death. Lantang village up high is feared with lot of damage… Namche bazaar has injured ppl and cracked house no trekkers died as per news. Everest base camp ppl still there. 18 death as per news yesterday… camp 1 -base camp link no more so heli rescue expected all climber to bring down today. As heard from lukla.

#Everest Roberto Schmidt covered Rescue operation in Base camp. As per official figures, 22 died and 217 are missing.
Two hundred seventeen people are missing in Mount Everest region, according to ministry officials. Twenty-two bodies have been recovered from the quake triggered avalanche site in the Mount Everest base camp.
Thirty-two people have been rescued from the region, while 29 are being treated at the Lukla Hospital.
Reddingswerkers hebben vandaag van het goede weer gebruikgemaakt om zo’n 180 bergbeklimmers te evacueren die al twee dagen lang vastzaten op Mount Everest.
De aardbeving van eergisteren en de naschokken zijn nog maar de voorbode van wat komen gaat. Dat zegt professor Manuel Sintubin, seismoloog aan de KU Leuven.
Volgens Sintubin is de kans groot dat nog aardbevingen van een magnitude van 8.6 zullen plaatsvinden. “De aardbeving van zaterdag valt daarbij in het niets.”
