Young energetic couple looking for an opportunity to run a B&B or Inn

Hi there! We are Anna and Cees (both 29 years). In september 2017 we are getting married in France and after that we would love to run a B&B, guesthouse or hotel together in a coastal area. We are looking for a place that has an authentic appearance but also breathes fresh vibes and thus attracts a wide varity of people, both young and older. We both have a lot of experience in the hospitality industry, but we also have many other skills that could come in handy. We believe that together we are the perfect dream team to meet the challenge of running a small hotel/guest house/b&b/hostel together. We love to give people a warm welcome and make them feel at home. Every guest has different needs, and while running, e.g a b&b, it’s our aim to find creative ways to meet those needs and wishes. Paint a picture that it’s just right. I might sound a bit corny, but still: a home a way frome home. We already got a taste of this by renting out our own appartment on AirBnb, but we can’t wait to start this adventure for real.

Anna: I have studied a year at the International Hotel School in The Hague. I quit my studies though, because I didn’t really like the atmosphere there. Something I deep down always regretted a bit. During my next studies, Bachelor Communications, I always kept working in several restaurants where I gained a lot of experience in the field. After I graduated I worked another two years full time in a Italian restaurant. Then I started working for PR agency which had a lot clients in the hospitality industry. I wrote press releases and organised press events. I did that for over a year.

After that I made a career switch to online marketing. I worked in that field for over 5 years and had positions as social media manager, copywriter, content manager and editor in chief of online magazines. These skills might come in handy when it comes to positioning your B&B/hotel/hostel/guesthouse online. Anyway, after all those years spending behind a computer, getting digital feedback from customers, I wanna do something ‘real’ again. Look people in the eye and see their response to something I have created or done for them. I really like to be around people and get to know new cultures. When we are on vacation I always want to go off the beaten track to experience how the local people live. I feels like it’s finally time to turn those holidays in something more serious and chase my dream: run a B&B abroad together with the love of my life.

Furthermore:
I love interior design and feel like I have an eye for creating unique ambiance. Also I have basic knowledge of the Spanish language and my friends call me the Salad Queen because I make some mean salad combo’s!

Work History Applicant #2:
Cees: "I never thought that working in the hospitality industry would be my thing. I’ve started with a study in trading in which I graduated. After that I went to Australia for a year to travel, work, make memories and find out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. When I came back home I started another study; Business Administration. After two years I realized that this was not the right choice for me. In the meantime I got a job as a waiter in a restaurant which was a lot of fun. I had money in my pocket and school was getting less and less important to me. So i quit school and started working full time in the restaurant. That was the beginning of my hospitality career. I have worked at several places since as a supervisor, and that is what i’m doing still with great pleasure. Especially when it’s very busy I am at my best, i do not stress. I am happy when the guest is happy. I feel that this part satisfies me most about my current job.

But I want to do something “bigger” with that aspect. I have always dreamed about moving to another country. I really enjoy other cultures and meeting a lot of people. My mother recently started her own B&B in the Ardeche in France, so i guess it runs in the family. I have never seen her so happy in her whole life since she followed her dream. I know it’s gonna be very exciting and challenging, but i’m sure it’s all worth it in the end."

Furthermore:

“I love to make coffee, especially cappuccino’s. Very interested in wine and beer, I did a wine course and got a certificate for that. Also while I was working I did a one year course in hotel management. And last but not least I love to cook!”
