ik vlieg binnenkort van amsterdam naar auckland met een tussenstop van zo’n 3 uur in shanghai.

weet iemand of het nodig is om een transitvisum te hebben voor zo’n korte tijd?

Geen idee!
Ik heb een stop van 2 dagen in Shanghai, dus ik heb wel een visum nodig voor China.
Neem aan dat je het op internet kan vinden?

een transit is iets anders dan een stopover. I.p. krijg je voor een transit een tijdelijk visum voor 24-28 uur. Maar de Chinese overheid is een beetje vervelend aan het doen met de visa, vandaar de twijfel. De ambassade in Nederland zegt er niets over op de website, de ambassade in Engeland zegt dat je een tijdelijk visum kan krijgen. Verder is er maar weinig over terug te vinden op internet. Volgens de KLM is er geen visum nodig, en ik vlieg met de KLM dus ga ik er nu maar van uit. Ik vlieg a.s zaterdag. Groeten

Voor een ieder die het wilt weten. Inmiddels ben ik er achter dat de vervoerende maatschappij verantwoordelijk is voor het geven van deze informatie en kan het visumburo je dus niet helpen aan deze info…

journey within 24 hours (or within the same day at Guangzhou -
CAN) to a third country by the same or first connecting

aircraft, and holding documents and confirmed tickets for

their onward journey. Leaving the airport transit area is
allowed. Overnight facilities are available outside the

airport:
Visa required, except for Nationals of Netherlands, provided

arriving at and departing from Shanghai Hongqiao or Pu Dong

airports only, continuing to a third country within 48 hours

and holding confirmed onward tickets and all documents

required for next destination.

Visa Issuance:

  • Upon arrival, if required, (although it is highly
    recommended to obtain a visa prior to arrival): a transit
    visa can be issued at Dalian airport only, for a stay of
    max. 7 days provided passenger:

    • is in transit to a third country;

    • holds confirmed onward tickets;

    • is a national of a country having diplomatic relations

    with China (People’s Rep.).
    Fee: if holding a photo USD 11.-. If not holding a photo USD
    14.-:

  • Passengers not complying with the entry or transit
    regulations will be deported by same or returning aircraft.
