The three-year tenure of office of the Lee Myung Bak puppet clique stained with deception and crimes has sparked public furor in south Korea.

From the first day of its accession to power the puppet clique clung to fascist dictatorship and confrontation against the fellow countrymen, turning its back on the nation. During the election Lee Myung Bak made a pledge for “747” aimed allegedly to increase the rate of economic growth and the national income and develop south Korea from a “backward nation” to an “advanced nation” in an attempt to take the helm of presidency. But they ratted on such honeyed words and turned south Korea into a living hell.

Their attempt at economic revival led to economic ruin. The debt of the puppet regime amounts to US $ 1 448.6 billions, that of businesses US $ 1 155 billions and that of households US $ 700 billions. The polarization of society and the wealth gap between the rich and the poor increased further and many minor enterprises went bankrupt.

The pledge “to create 600 000 jobs every year” was reduced to a scrap of paper and a great number of people were out of work.

On top of this, the continued increase in various taxes compelled people to overwork and commit suicide. After the Lee Myung Bak clan came to power, south Korea became the world number one in suicide rate.

Today, the south Korean people severely denounce the Lee Myung Bak clan, saying “Common people are as good as dead in the south Korean society. South Korea is turning into a repository of living corpses”.

The lowest wage solidarity in south Korea held a press conference in front of the Sejong house of culture in Seoul and called for launching a nationwide movement for higher wages. The political and other circles including the local civic and public organizations rose against the unilateral announcement of the complete scrapping of the “new airport construction” project in the Ryongnam area, which was made by the puppet authorities in April.

The Korean Confederation of Democratic Trade Unions, a mass organization of south Korean workers, staged an anti-government protest to defend the freedom of labour movement and the workers’ right to live.

The “by-election” held in April turned into a court which judged the anti-popular policies of the Lee Myung Bak clique.

Even the south Korean media described the three-year term in office of the puppet clique as a “nightmarish three years which brought crises to democracy, people’s economy and inter-Korean relations”. Most of the respondents gave vent to their anger, complaining, “Everyday is like a hell, everything has gone worse and, in actuality, it has become harder to live” under the Lee Myung Bak regime.
