4 lokale vliegmaatschappijen verliezen licentie

Four local airlines lose licenses
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta
The government has revoked the licenses of four domestic airlines, including PT Bayu Indonesia Air (Bayu Air) and PT Dayajasa Transindo Pratama, on account of their having halted all operations, the Indonesian Air Carriers Association (INACA) has announced.

INACA secretary-general Tengku Burhanuddin said Wednesday that the loss of the licenses was understandable given that the airlines involved were no longer flying.
Despite the license cancellations, he said that INACA, which has 23 members consisting of 15 scheduled and eight charter airlines, hoped that the government would maintain its policy of not issuing any new licenses to would-be start-ups.
Burhanuddin said that the number of licenses already issued for regular and charter services was more than enough. Transportation Minister Hatta Rajasa said earlier that the government would tighten up the rules for issuing permits for additional flights and routes to avoid unhealthy competition. (03)
