Piece system:
This system establishes the maximum number of items, the weight and the specific size which will be carried free of charge. If any of these requirements are exceeded (number of items, weight per item and size of each item), the items will be considered excess baggage.
Baggage on connecting flights to/from any of these destinations with a company which is not part of the oneworld alliance cannot be checked in through to the final destination using the piece system, it can instead using the weight system. In this case, checking in by no. of items can only be requested as far as the airport at which the passenger changes companies.
