The Heineken Hottest 7’s in the World is a Rugby 7’s two day competition in Darwin with local, overseas, interstate, and intrastate teams participating. Imparja Cup Cricket Carnival: 13 - 17 February 2008
Watch all-Indigenous teams representing all states and territories in Australia, as well as major centres and communities of the Northern Territory, come together in Alice Springs to take part in the annual Imparja Cup. Various competition formats are played, including 20/20, 40 overs per side and Super 8s. The Caves Christmas Festival is held to raise money for childhood cancer research. Thousands of people converge on the small town of Mt Compass on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula for the annual Compass Cup cow race over the Australia Day long weekend. Australia’s only cow race has been running since 1974 to raise money for charities and the local community. Riders, along with three support team members race five dairy heifers across the local football ground - the rider who stays on the longest is the winner. Join the Rubber Boot Marathon, the Wobbly Cow Race, the Milk Loading Competition, the stiff cow race and the fence relay. With sideshows, rides and food stalls this is a real country show.

Tasmania’s only marathon is in Hobart and starts and finishes at the Cadbury Chocolate Factory. The festival consists of multiple events including the Cadbury Marathon, Cadbury Half Marathon, Freddo 5km and Caramello 2.5 kilometre. Boyup Brook Ute and Truck Muster: 14-17 February 2008
The utes and trucks parade their way through the town centre streets to the cheers of the crowd and finish up at Music Park for music, games and entertainment while the judges take a closer look at the vehicles. Prizes are awarded in categories such as Best Street Ute, Most Feral Ute, Best Chick Ute. There are also awards for trucks including: Best Vintage Truck, Best Working Truck - Pre 1980, Best Overall Truck and a People’s Choice Award. The Ute and Truck Muster is run in conjunction with the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival.
