Description of internship organization:
This big NGO has taken up the responsibility of motivating the private sector of Nicaragua. They have a special department focused on young entrepreneurs. They are represented all over Nicaragua and the main office is located in Managua. The NGO stimulates and helps youth to start or improve their business. They focus on different groups such as: kids attending secondary education, youth from campsite, youth at social risk (among others gang members). In 2012 they have already created over 40 new businesses.
Internship possibilities:
You can evaluate and help improve (parts of) business plans
You first assist and later can give/ create/ improve courses on how to run a business to groups of youth. Topics can be: how to present you business/ how to find clients/ how to improve your product/ how to set up your financial administration/ the pro’s and con’s of loans/ etc
Help find answers to the questions of the entrepreneurs
**Guidance:
**This department is being supported by a German NGO and a Dutch professional works for this department. The manager of the department will be your internship guide, for day-to-day questions the Dutch professional can also help you.
**Remarks:
**This organization is located in Managua, but is easy to reach by public transport from Granada or Masaya. In Masaya or Granada you can live in a student house with other (mostly Dutch) international students.
