De nr 1 van Indonesie wordt voorgedragen voor de Nobelprijs, en dat terwijl er stelselmatig onrecht plaatsvind. Maar zoals altijd geldt het dat economische belangen een rol spelen in verstandhoudingen tussen landen. Indonesie heeft veel krediet bij landen bv Amerika door de enorme grondstoffen die op Nw. Guinea welke voor handen liggen (de grootste goud kopermijn ter wereld is op Nw. Guinea) wie exploiteert die toko (mijn) juist…Freeport Mc Moran een Amerikaanse mijnbouw gigant, dit gaat natuurlijk ten koste van de autochtone bevolking (mensenrechtenschendingen), de natuur…het is een raar mannetje maar goed, de man doet ook wat goeds…

Het is natuurlijk niet makkelijk een land te besturen wat zo divers is, met zo veel culturen en religieen, afsplitsende volkeren (Timor trauma) Aceh, de Molukkers op Ambon, en de Papua’s… gooi daar nog een paar categorieen rampen van cuisinne finesse over, met overstromingen, en een virus die verderf zaait over moskee en kerk en je hebt Indonesie, dat bestuurd wordt niet alleen door deze man Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, maar door zovelen want het is een erg sociale samenleving,

JAKARTA, 29 January 2006 - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2006 by a senior congressman for international relations committee, Robert Wexler for his ability to bring significant progress in Indonesia during his one year ruling. In a press release obtained here, Sunday, Wexler said, Yudhoyono has made dramatical change during his one year administration.

Yudhoyono is the first Indonesian president directly elected by his people, Wexler of the Democrat Party said. Under Yudhoyono administration, deadlock in Aceh conflict could be settled with the signing of peace deal between the Indonesian government and the Free Aceh Movement in August 2005. In his letter to the Nobel Committee, Wexler said Yudhoyono deserves for the prize.

After the tidal waves killed thousands of people in December 2004 and under the threat of bird flu outbreak, President Yudhoyono could stabilize the country`s politic and economy and mobilize international aid. “This has proven that President Yudhoyono is a true reformer and a peace fighter,” Wexler said. Nobel Prize is awarded in various sector including in peace, literary, health, chemistry, and physics.

The Nobel Committee in Norway which comprised of five members appointed by the countrys parliament, name the candidates and winners of the nobel prize. Responding to the report, a spokesman of the President, Andi Mallarangeng said, the Presidents office has responded positively to the nomination. “The government`s aim in carrying out duties is not for the Nobel or other awards. But if there is appreciation (for the work), we will be glad,” Andi said.

Since the tsunami destroyed Aceh in December 26, 2004, the President has been committed to creating peace in Aceh. President Yudhoyono ordered his aides to contact leaders of the GAM. “Our contact was accepted by GAM, and the climax is the signing of memorandum of understanding which until now implemented by both camps,” Andi said

Ergens anders heb ik een bericht gezet mbt zijn weigering een rapport over de misdaden van het Indonesische leger in Oost Timor in ontvangst te nemen. Zolang er nog sprake is van moordpartijen in Indonesie moet de firma Nobel maar niet aan dit soort reclame beginnen. Laten ze Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono maar een vaatje van dat zwarte poeder geven om op te zitten, gooi ik er wel een peuk naar toe.

ATAMBUA, 01 February 2006 - The 1996 winner of Nobel Peace Prize Bishop Carlos Filipe Ximenes Belo has expressed his sincere support to the nomination of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for the 2006 prize. In his statement by phone from Portugal to ANTARA News here on Wednesday, Belo said he sincerely supports President Yudhoyonos nomination for this years Nobel Peace Prize.

“I was informed that President Yudhoyono had been nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize by the United States Congress, and as the 1996 winner of the similar prize, I sincerely support the nomination for the Indonesian state leader,” Belo said. He added that if Yudhoyono is successful, it will be a privilege and pride of the whole people of Indonesia and the people in East Timor as well.

The former East Timor Catholic leader from 1988 to 2002 noted further that his sincere support to Yudhoyono was for the sake of a lasting peace in Indonesia in general and in Aceh, Papua and Timor Leste in specific.
