Air Asia puts new plane into service
Jakarta Post 20 march
JAKARTA: Low cost carrier Indonesia AirAsia (IAA) launched its sixth airplane last week to increase flight frequency from Jakarta to Medan, Batam and Padang.

The operation of the 148-seat Boeing 737-300 plane has enabled IAA to increase the flight frequency from Jakarta to Medan to five times a day from three previously.
With the operation of the sixth plane, the flight frequencies from Jakarta to Batam and Padang have been also increased to three times a week from twice a week.
“The plane was the second new plane to be put into service in less than two weeks. The fifth plane was launched on March 10,” said chief executive officer Sendjaja Widjaja on Thursday. IAA, 49 percent owned by Malaysia’s AirAsia group served more than 970,000 passengers last year.
