Celebrating a royal milestone

This year marks the 60th anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s accession to the throne. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has launched the Thailand Grand Invitation campaign to create international awareness and invite visitors to celebrations honouring the world’s longest reigning monarch. Here are some of the highlights.
January
The Royal Trophy: Europe versus Asia golf championship in Chon Buri during January 5-7.
The Grand Chinese New Year to be celebrated nationwide January 29-30.
February
Grand Bangkok International Film Festival in Bangkok from February 17-27.
March
Grand Music & Dance Festival in Pattaya, Chon Buri, during March 17-19.
Grand International Kite Festival in Hua Hin from March 11-15.
