BANGKOK, 22 November 2010 — Prior to the launch of its Chiang Mai-based operations, 24 January 2011, Thai AirAsia has rolled out promotional fares to Hat Yai and Singapore; two key destinations that it will serve out of its northern base.
A one-way deal to and from Hat Yai is priced at Bt690, while an introductory fare to Singapore has been set at Bt1,490. Booking are open until 28 November for travel from 24 January to 10 November, next year.

Initially, Thai AirAsia will base just one aircraft in Chiang Mai. A new aircraft due to be delivered early January will be used for the launch 24 January.
Thai AirAsia has already established a regional base on the popular southern tourist island of Phuket. It flies to Chiang Mai, Udon Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Hong Kong and Singapore from the island’s international airport. Two routes that performed poorly, Phuket-Medan and Phuket-Ho Chi Minh City, were axed earlier this year.
