I know that you have been waiting patiently for approval from Apple for your branded app. Early this week we received unfortunate update from Apple.
Apple has decided that they will no longer approve apps for the App Store that have similar functionality, but only differ in content. The communication was from the App Review Board, and the Review Board said they will also begin enforcing this ruling with other developers of branded app for forums (as well as developers for other types of apps).
That leaves us with a couple of options:
- Refund payment for Premium Tier – Let us know if you want us to refund all payments you have made for the Premium Tier. Please note that if you have a Android app, cancelling the Premium Tier will also cancel the Android app. If you like to cancel, please let us know if you want to return to the Basic Tier ($5/mo) or the Free Tier
- Continue with iOS and Android BYO apps using your own Apple and Google Developer Account
You can purchase an Apple Developer account at a cost of $99 per year. We will need you to provide us access to the account , and then we can process the app through the App Store on your behalf.
If you are interested in continuing with your own Apple Developer license, please follow the process outlined below:

- You would like to move to Free or Basic Tier. We will refund all subscription fees paid.
- You would like to continue, using your own Apple Developer account (paying Apple $99/yr)

De eerste optie die ze geven betekent dat wij in de Tapatalk app zelf zouden zitten (dus niet meer een eigen app), de tweede optie dat we een eigen account bij Apple a 99 dollar per jaar moeten aanhouden.
Ik was al helemaal gewend aan een toegang tot dit forum via een favoriet in Safari. Ik was de app al bijna vergeten.
Ik zal mij er dus niet over opwinden, als de app komt te vervallen.
Van je plaatsgenoten moet je het weer hebben natuurlijk.

Ik knikker de app er dus maar weer af.
Via Tapatalk werkt het nu ook al prima, vind ik. De meerwaarde van de eigen app zie ik niet zo.
In gebruik Tapatalk ook voor andere forums en ik vind het juist handig om die allemaal in Tapatalk te hebben.
