De regering van Ecuador heeft besloten om de door buitenlandse toeristen betaalde BTW(IVA) te vergoeden.Dit gaat gebeuren vanaf 3 januari 2011. De teruggave dient groter dan 50 $ te zijn.Op de airports van Guayaquil/Quito komt een box te staan.Hierin deponeer je het betreffende formulier,kopie van de rekening en kopie paspoort.Dus als je rekeningen krijg,let erop dat de IVA is gespecificeerd. Inmiddels is er wat meer [duidelijkheid.Bijv.de](http://duidelijkheid.Bijv.de) administratieve kosten zijn $[3.De](http://3.De) factuur moet groter zijn dan $[50.De](http://50.De) detreffende deelnemer heeft het tax-free logo opgeplakt.Je moet je melden bij de desk van de SRI op het vliegveld van Guayaquil en/of Quito.Daar krijg je ook het formulier [uitgereikt.De](http://uitgereikt.De) teruggave wordt uitsluitend geregeld via je [creditcard.De](http://creditcard.De) naam op de factuur,paspoort en creditcard dient identiek te zijn.Nu kan teruggave nog alleen gedaan worden met een creditcard van VISA en Matercard. This was implemented by the GoE as an incentive to promote tourism and the purchase of Ecuadorian products. The reimbursement is based on Article 30 of the Tourism Law and Article 182 of the rules of the Tourism Law, that establishes the right of foreigners to be reimbursed IVA for purchase of national products and/or hotel accommodation provided that the receipt (factura) has a value no less than $50.00. How does the program work? Purchases made at businesses displaying the `tax free logo’ (attached) and properly documented on the receipt (factura) for amounts paid for national goods or hotel stays $50.00 and above can be reimbursed. The purchaser presents the goods and receipts to the SRI desk personnel located after immigration control in Quito airport or at the international pre-boarding lobby in the GYQ airport. SRI personnel will assist tourists and provide them the refund application form (English version attached) to fill out to request reimbursement. The tourist fills out the form, attach the receipt(s) and a copy of their passport and put these documents in an envelope and deposit in the IVA mailbox at the desk. Reimbursements will be credited to the tourist’s credit card only. At this time, SRI is only accepting reimbursement requests to Visa and Master Card. The credit card must be in the name of the tourist and the same name reflected on the receipt(s) (factura). Please note that tourists may pay for goods/services reimbursable under this program by cash or credit card, however, IVA reimbursement will be made only to the credit cards aforementioned. SRI will deduct administrative costs from the IVA reimbursement. According to our contact at SRI, at this time they will deduct $3.00 per receipt (factura). They are looking at ways to potentially lower the administrative fee later on. Tourists may check SRI’s website at www.sri.gob.ec to verify their refund status by entering their passport number. Het betreffende programma wordt langzaam over het land uitgerold en meer en meer bedrijven doen er aan mee.Hier de link voor Cuenca,met de bedrijven die er daar aan mee doen.
