Woensdag (20 juli) deden er een handvol Republikeinse kandidaten mee aan het allereerste [twitter-debat](http://140townhall.com/) ooit tussen (potentiële) presidentskandidaten. Hieronder een verzameling van de meest populaire (meeste ‘retweets’) uitspraken per (typisch GOP) thema. Overheid + Werkgelegenheid > Herman Cain: Government doesn’t create jobs. Businesses create jobs. Government needs to get out the way > Michele Bachmann: Govt overregulation is the single biggest #jobs killer. The 3 biggest offenders are the EPA, #Obamacare, & Frank-Dodd. Betrokkenheid VS in Campagne Libië > Herman Cain: I’ve said many times before that US intervention in Lybia is inappropriate and wrong. The US does not belong in this war > Michele Bachmann: No. There is no vital US interest in #Libya. Worse, we might be aiding terrorist groups by supporting the Libyan opposition. Defensie > Newt Gingrich: We spend less on defense today as % of GDP than at any time since Pearl Harbor > Herman Cain: As president, I’d support any cuts to wasteful spending in the military, but nothing more.
